Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Pinoy Student Tracker ("the App") handles information, on iPhone and Android. The App works without an account of any kind. Your classes and class records stay on your device, and we do not operate a server: we do not collect, receive or store any of your data.

1. No Account, No Sign-Up

The App does not require or offer a user account. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, passwords, or any other personally identifiable information about you.

2. Class Data Stored on Your Device

The classes you create and the information you enter about your learners — student names, LRN or student numbers, sex, quiz scores and attendance — are stored locally on your device. By default nothing leaves your device, and the App works fully offline.

3. Optional iCloud Sync & Backups (iPhone)

When iCloud sync is on, the App stores its sync file and automatic backups in your own iCloud Drive, in the App’s container, so your classes appear on your other devices and survive a lost or replaced phone. That storage belongs to your Apple Account: we cannot see, read or access it, and Apple handles it under Apple's Privacy Policy. iCloud sync is on by default when you are signed in to iCloud, and you can turn it off at any time in Backup & sync.

4. Optional Google Drive Sync & Backups (iPhone and Android)

If you choose Connect Google Drive, you sign in with Google and the App asks only for the drive.appdata permission. With it, the App stores its sync file and backups in a hidden, app-only folder in your own Google Drive. The App cannot see, open or change any of your other Drive files, and the files go directly between your device and Google; they never pass through us. Google handles them under the Google Privacy Policy.

You can disconnect at any time in Backup & sync. Disconnecting stops syncing; the files already in your Drive stay there until you remove them, which you can do from Google Drive’s Settings › Manage apps.

5. Backups

When sync is on, the App makes automatic backups to the iCloud Drive or Google Drive you connected and keeps the newest seven, removing older ones. You can restore any of them from Backup & sync. Backups are stored only in your own cloud storage.

6. Camera & QR Scanning

The camera is used only to scan your students’ attendance QR codes. Scanning runs entirely on your device. No images or video are saved, uploaded or sent to us or anyone else. Camera access is optional; declining it leaves every other feature working.

7. Exporting & Sharing

Files you choose to export or share — CSV spreadsheets, PDF class records, QR code sheets, class files and backup files — are created on your device and go only where you send them (for example Files, email or a messaging app). We never receive a copy. Files you import, such as a CSV or Excel class list or a class shared by another teacher, are read on your device.

8. Analytics, Advertising & Third Parties

The App contains no analytics, advertising or tracking, and no third-party analytics, advertising or attribution SDKs. We do not profile you, and we do not sell or share data with anyone. The only network connections the App makes are to Apple’s iCloud or to Google sign-in and Google Drive, and only when you turn those features on.

Aggregate, anonymised crash and performance statistics may be provided to us by Apple or Google if, and only if, you have opted in to share diagnostics with app developers in your device settings. This is an operating-system feature and contains no class data.

9. Learner Data & the Data Privacy Act

The App helps you keep records about your learners, and you decide what to enter and where it goes. As the teacher, you are responsible for handling learner information in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and your school’s or division’s policies — for example, protecting your device with a passcode and sharing exported files only with people who should have them.

10. Children

The App is a tool for teachers, not for students, and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone; the learner information you enter stays on your device and in the cloud storage you choose.

11. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You own your data, and you can remove it yourself:

• A class or a student. Delete it inside the App. If sync is on, the deletion syncs to your other devices.
• Everything on this device. Deleting the App removes all of its data from your device.
• Cloud copies. Data you chose to sync stays in your iCloud Drive or Google Drive until you delete it there. For Google Drive, use Settings › Manage apps in Google Drive to delete the App’s hidden data.

Because we operate no server holding your data and no account exists, there is no separate deletion request to send us.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically. Changes are effective immediately upon being posted.
